KOSHKOSH
The Ukrainian born artist Nicholas Koshkosh (b. 1995), has gained international recognition for his colorful paintings. He has found his own unique way to imprint various ancient symbols and creatures into his practice. His aesthetic language spans a multitude of references to biblical tales and mythical stories. The ancient narratives are combined with cultural signs from the Slavic regions, Western symbolism, and elements from contemporary mass culture. Moreover, Koshkosh’s works are often shaped by underlying references to a critical stance on ongoing political issues.
